Waters MassPREP™ Station is the multifunctional robotic protein handling system developed for the ProteomeWorks™ System, accelerating protein identification with fully automated digestion and sample preparation for MALDI TOF and Q-Tof analyses.
Flexible, Reliable and Customizable Operation
Waters MassPREP Station is capable of performing all the essential gel-processing (de-staining, reduction and alkylation), protein digestion and peptide preparation steps for mass spectrometry analyses in a high throughput environment. This automated approach ensures reproducibility, and together with the MassPREP Clean Air Enclosure, also removes the risk of contamination. Digestion is enabled in 96-well formatted arrays for two microtiter plates in parallel, with an extended bed option of four microtiter plates.
Temperature Control and Precision Liquid Handling
The Micromass MassPREP Station features variable temperature control for optimized in-gel protein reduction, alkylation and digestion. On-board software-controlled heating (37°C) and cooling (4°C) ensures digestion of proteins with maximum efficiency, while robotically transferable lids minimize evaporation. The four liquid dispensing probes utilize independent liquid level sensing to maximize volume-handling accuracy and minimize the reagents consumed. Disposable tips guarantee zero sample carry-over and high volume/high throughput sample tip washing reduces carryover to less than 1:1,000,000 where tips are not required.
Total Control Over Cleanup, Pre-concentration and Precision Deposition
The Micromass MassPREP Station is compatible with an extensive range of technologies for sample cleanup/de-salting and preconcentration and is capable of precisely depositing samples in as little as a microlitre of liquid with either fixed or disposable tips, and spotting of a near-point lock mass reference.
